Terms & Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made with Ard na Ciuin whether online via our website, by telephone, or in person.

Please note that for promotional bookings all relevant additional terms and conditions should be consulted.

 

  1. DEFINITIONS

‘Advance Purchase Rates’ means the rates as specified in section 3.

‘Booking’ means the booking for accommodation, residential courses, exclusive use and/or any other services or items made with us.

‘Contract’ means the Booking, these terms, and any other terms and conditions stated to apply to the Booking.

‘Deposit’ means a sum payable as a first instalment required to confirm a Booking; the balance being payable later.

‘Promotional Rates’ means the rates as specified in section 4.

‘Terms’ means these terms and conditions.

‘Website’ means www.ardnaciuin.ie

All Bookings at Ard na Ciuin are subject to these Terms.

If your Booking includes dinners, our preferred dinner time is allocated automatically, if you have a specific need we kindly request you contact Ard na Ciuin to confirm.

Please note that the price being offered currently cannot be guaranteed should you not complete your Booking at this stage.

All prices are also subject to change and are provided for indicative purposes only.

All rates featured on the Website or quoted by telephone or otherwise are offered subject to availability and we reserve the right to refuse any Booking for good reason. We offer a choice of residential course packages, private function with exclusive use (including bed and breakfast), plus bed and breakfast only rates.

 

  1. PRICING

We offer a full range of packages and pricing, as detailed below. Our packages and pricing may fluctuate depending on availability and demand at any given time and are on a per person basis. All prices are subject to change without notice and are subject to availability and are only inclusive of any meals, (at the current prevailing rate) if specified in writing. Your price is guaranteed once you have been given a confirmation number.

All prices will be shown on our Website, and quoted by our staff in euros, or shown as €.

Any payment collected online or via our office card terminal will be in euros and at the exchange rate of the day.

 

  1. ADVANCE PURCHASE RATES

If applicable to the Package or Course, Advance Purchase Rates are available 30 days or more before the date of arrival, and are fully prepaid at time of Booking. Advance Purchase Rates are non-refundable and non-transferable. The credit/debit card used to book the Advance Purchase Rate must be presented to reception on arrival at Ard na Ciuin.

  1. PROMOTIONAL RATES

These rates will require a promotion code. Separate terms and conditions may apply which will take precedence over these Terms.

For the avoidance of doubt, your price does not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay. Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, you irrevocably authorise us to debit your credit or debit card the amount of any shortfall.

  1. AVAILABILITY

During seasonality, Bank holidays, social events, open days and exhibitions certain rates may not be available. Certain dates may be subject to a minimum length of stay. All rates are subject to availability.

  1. SINGLE GUESTS (B&B only)

All rooms at Ard na Ciuin are either double, twin or more occupancy. Individual guests may book a double or twin room for sole occupancy. These rooms may carry a supplement.

Please ask at the time of Booking.

SINGLE GUESTS (residential courses)

Individual guests whilst staying on a residential course will be automatically allocated a double or twin room at no extra cost.

  1. DOUBLE, TWIN and +1 COURSES

Guests sharing a double or twin room whilst both attending a residential course (where available) may benefit from a reduced rate.

Guests sharing a double or twin room whilst only one guest is attending a residential course (where available) may benefit from a ‘+1’ reduced rate.

  1. CHILDREN

We welcome children at weekends and on ‘exclusive use’ packages only.

Children under the age of three can stay and eat free at Ard na Ciuin, when sharing a room with paying adults on the same basis. For Children from the ages of 3 to 12 years charges may apply. The availability of suitable rooms is limited and portable beds may need to be used where such accommodation is sought. Ard na Ciuin staff will determine whether a room is suitable for the purpose of this offer. Children staying in their own room may be charged 100% of the full adult rate (where applicable) paid by the accompanying adults. All children (a person under 16 years of age) staying at Ard na Ciuin must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

CHECKING IN AND OUT

  1. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Guest rooms are available from 3pm on the day of arrival. Rooms must be vacated by 12 noon on the day of departure, unless ‘late checkout’ is included in a package or otherwise sanctioned at the discretion of the manager. These times may be varied from time to time at the Company’s discretion.  In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, at the time of check-in, guests may be required to confirm their identity by providing their booking reference and their passport/identity card/driving licence.

  1. GUESTS WITH IMPAIRED MOBILITY

Ard na Ciuin has limited facilities for guests with impaired mobility. Guests with impaired mobility or other particular requirements should check in advance that their requirements can be met. Please call Ard na Ciuin reservations direct for details.

  1. DOGS

Guide dogs only are accepted in rooms at Ard na Ciuin with prior arrangement. Well behaved dogs are permitted on the grounds but must be kennelled in our purpose built facility (subject to availability). Whilst on the grounds all dogs but must be kept on a lead at all times. No other pets are permitted at Ard na Ciuin.

  1. CAR PARKING

Car parking is free at Ard na Ciuin. Guests may be asked to move their vehicle if causing an obstruction. Further information on parking procedures is available from the office. Cars and their contents are left at the owner’s own risk and we do not accept responsibility for loss or damage (save as may not be excluded or restricted by applicable law).

  1. GUEST BEHAVIOUR

Guests are requested to conduct themselves appropriately at all times and to comply with Company procedures and/or requests with regard to conduct and respect for the property of Ard na Ciuin, its employees and guests and their health and safety.  Guests are requested not to disrupt the comfort and enjoyment of other guests, the smooth running of Ard na Ciuin, or cause offence to other guests or any member of staff.  We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or services or remove you and members of your party from the premises if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider this provision to have been breached. Where this is the case we shall have no obligation to refund you for lost accommodation, other services or any other loss or expense incurred.

  1. DAMAGE

We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the facilities during your stay (including without limitation specialist cleaning) or for any items that are missing or damaged when you leave.

  1. NO SMOKING

Guests are not permitted to smoke in rooms or public areas inside Ard na Ciuin.  Smoking is permitted outside in the designated smoking area only.

  1. MEAL ARRANGEMENTS

Breakfast is included in all pricings. We offer a full traditional or continental breakfast or a selection from the above with tea or coffee, unless stated otherwise. Dinners are offered on a ‘menu of the day’ basis. We cannot guarantee a table in our dinning room in the evening for guests on bed and breakfast only terms and you should contact us directly to make a reservation.  There is no refund for meals included in a package that are not taken by guests.

  1. LEISURE FACILITIES

Guests staying for a residential course and certain packages may use the facilities throughout the duration of their stay. Please check online for the range of facilities available. A charge may be made for the use of certain facilities. Your use of such facilities is subject to any particular terms and conditions applying at Ard na Ciuin.

Under 5’s are not permitted to use our hydro-massage spa. Under 16’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times when using this, or any other available leisure facility.

Suitable swimwear must be worn at all times when using our hydro-massage spa.

Swimming caps must be worn at all times when using our swimming pool.

Swim nappies must be used by small children when using our swimming pool.

  1. BOOKING INFORMATION

Book online at www.ardnaciuin.ie or call reservations direct on 058 60976 or from outside the Republic of Ireland 003535860976.

When you make your Booking you will be asked to guarantee your Booking with a valid debit/credit card. If booked on our Advance Purchase Rate, or Promotional Rates we require full payment at the time of Booking.

  1. GROUP BOOKING

For group bookings we require that one person make, and be responsible for, payment for the group. Payment for group bookings made in person must still be taken with a valid credit/debit card. For exclusive use packages we advise that payment from other group members is collected prior to full payment being taken. No refunds will be given for group members who do not, for whatever reason, attend the private function.

  1. BALANCE OF MONIES OUTSTANDING

Prior to your departure from Ard na Ciuin you will be required, if necessary, to settle your bill.

On arrival you may be asked to produce a valid credit card in order to take pre-authorisation for the full amount of your stay. If you are settling your account in cash or with a debit card, you may be asked for a deposit to cover the cost of your stay.

Ard na Ciuin accept all major debit cards and credit cards, including MasterCard and Visa.

  1. GIFT VOUCHERS

Valid Ard na Ciuin gift vouchers should be presented on arrival.

  1. CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS

Credit card transactions completed at Ard na Ciuin will have an administration surcharge of added to the total bill. Debit cards do not incur a charge.

  1. CANCELLATION & AMENDMENTS

As we are a small business, cancellations affect us significantly.

‘Bed and breakfast only’

Confirmed Bookings cancelled more than 48 hours prior to arrival will incur a 10% booking fee only, after which a charge for the first night’s accommodation shall be payable.

Residential courses & ‘Exclusive use’ packages

All Deposits are non-refundable and will be forfeited if cancelled.

All Advance Purchase Rates are non-refundable and full pre-payment will be forfeited if cancelled.

Cancelled residential courses fees and ‘Exclusive use’ rates (excluding Deposits and Advanced Purchase Rates) will be refunded at the following rates:

50% refund 14-28 days prior to arrival.

25% refund 7-14 days prior to arrival.

Residential course fees and ‘Exclusive use’ rates will be forfeited if cancelled within 7 days prior to arrival.

 

In exceptional circumstances, at the absolute discretion of the management, certain residential courses and ‘Exclusive use’ packages may be re-scheduled.

In such circumstances no refund will be given, but a voucher will be issued (excluding Deposits and Advanced Purchase Rates) at the following rates, when the re-scheduled date is confirmed by a new Deposit:

75% voucher 14-28 days prior to arrival.

50% voucher 7-14 days prior to arrival.

Please note: The above vouchers may only be redeemed against a similar residential course or package in the same calendar year.

Promotional rates may only be cancelled in accordance with the specific terms applying to that rate which will be advised at the time of Booking.

A cancellation number must be obtained to ensure that minimum charges are levied.

Whilst every effort is made to fulfil any particular requests that you may make in relation to your stay with us, please note that these requests do not form part of the Contract and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests.

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your reservation you will be given a full refund but we shall have no further liability to you arising out of such cancellation.

24. FORCE MAJEURE

The Company accepts no liability and will not pay any compensation where the performance of its obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by, or as a result of, force majeure or any circumstances beyond its reasonable control including, but not limited to, flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, other acts of God, acts of terrorism, fire or failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse of building structures.

25. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Ard na Ciuin will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any property left on the premises other than as required by law.

Ard na Ciuin will not be liable for any indirect, consequential or pure economic loss or any loss of profit, goodwill or opportunity (whether caused by the negligence of, its employees, contractors, or otherwise).

Ard na Ciuin’s total liability shall not exceed the value of the charges received under the Contract.

Nothing contained in the Contract or in any other document referred to or incorporated in it shall be read or construed as excluding any liability for death or personal injury caused by the Company’s negligence or liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

26. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

The Contract and any non-contractual obligations arising in connection with it are governed by Irish law.

The Irish courts have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any dispute arising in connection with the Contract, including disputes relating to any non-contractual obligations.

Each party irrevocably waives any objection which it may now or later have to proceedings being brought in the Irish courts (on the grounds that the Irish courts are not a convenient forum or otherwise).

27. WEB SITE INFORMATION

While all reasonable efforts have been taken to ensure the accuracy of information on our website, Ard na Ciuin does not accept responsibility for omissions or errors and reserves the right to change or cancel any of the elements featured on its website without notice. In certain circumstances, generic photographic images may have been used to represent the general style of a particular product.
