Back in 2009 when we launched our 5 day residential course for teaching people to swim we had no idea it would be such a huge success!
So, after being featured on RTE TV in April 2013 it was great to know we are providing as service that’s really important to lots of people.
Since then, we have also helped many people who can already swim but have different problems. Some need help with breathing properly, others would like to learn a new stroke, and many need to improve their technique and speed for triathlon training.
Unless you are lucky enough to have your own pool, public or Hotel swimming pools are going to be the best option for you to swim.
Whilst these facilities are suitable for your day to day swimming and training needs when it comes to trying something new or getting guidance to improve your swimming technique they do have two major drawbacks:
It’s unlikely you will be the only person in the pool.
It’s just not cost effective to reserve a large swimming pool for just you and your coach. Unless ‘lane swimming’ is enforced, which also has its own set of rules, it can be like pushing your shopping trolley around a supermarket on a Saturday morning!
You must move forward through the water to swim.
That sounds a bit obvious doesn’t it? But to fully assess your swimming technique your coach must walk beside you as you move through the water; and that’s like running beside a car to see if a wheel is wobbling!
So what is the solution?
You really need a private pool with just you and your coach, where you swim in place, the water moves past you, and your instructor can stand still to concentrate on your technique.
That’s the best solution for improving your swimming technique in a short period of time.
So what is the best option?
The best option by far is to improve your swimming technique in an Endless Pool™
Highly regarded by swimming instructors, coaches and trainers worldwide, it has a unique flow mechanism that can be fully adjusted to suit your pace. This allows you to swim without going anywhere, similar to running on a treadmill in a gym.
The flow may be turned off completely or adjusted to speeds ranging from a slow leisurely pace to a competitive speed.
As a result you are able to perfect your breathing technique or concentrate on being streamlined, efficient, balanced and able to cope with longer periods of activity.
If you are looking to improve your swimming technique in a short period of time, an Endless Pool with knowledgeable staff, in a purpose built facility, is by far your best solution.
If you can take time off from your day to day routine, find a place that does a Residential Improvers Swimming course.
That way you will learn much more in a short period of time and have a great holiday too!
